Hoenn is not getting a remake. Gens 1 and 2 faced radical differences in mechanics and gameplay going into Gen 3, so remaking them made sense. There has not been such a jump since, and until there is we will not be seeing remakes again.
The Starter trio idea has zero relevance outside the repeated trend within the Pokemon games themselves, and Smash has no fucking reason to follow it.
Sceptile has less than zero relevance itself right now. No movies. No games. Not popular competitively. Not popular period, especially compared to the other pokemon that did get Megas. Speaking of, not even a Mega. Fucking BLAZIKEN would get into Smash before it, guaran-fucking-teed.
Worst yet, it's incredibly generic. At east shitchars like ROB and G&W were funny to look at.
