I think pic related takes the cake for the most bland shiny I have ever seen. It's barely distinguishable from the original.

Because the shiny colors aren't consciously chosen. They're just the pokemon's original colors, but shifted over a palette. Thus, you get a ton of shinies that look like shit because Game Freak didn't bother to actually design them.

Porygon didn't use bright enough colors on its swap, Crobat doesn't even follow its line trend, Houndoom palette doesn't go well, all Rotom forms are ruined with its annoying shade of red, Scizor deserved a swap with Scyther's green.
Can't even defend shiny Ferrothorn, bright red or nothing.

Soft Resetting, but in some games the legendaries are shiny locked, meaning you can't get them shiny at all, unless you have powersaves or something like that.

All X/Y and BW/B2W2 legendaries are shiny locked iirc
