Ice, unless the Pokemon is an extremely min/maxed hyper offensive sweeper. And that doesn't even exist.

At least with Grass I can absorb powder moves and leech seed

It's Rock.

With Grass, there are plenty of Pokemon with tricks or strengths that might allow them to get through tougher obstacles. If you manage to Quiver Dance Lilligant to the limit, for instance, you might be able to take down anything short of Heatran.

But Rock's a different story. Most Rock mons are slow and have nothing resemble special defense. So the moment something with a grass, water, sp-fighting or ice move goes first, you're probably fucked.

rock isn't weak to ice, ground is
using dual types, like mecagro or cradily can nagate rock weaknesess. if you bring in a sandstorm which pumps rock sp.def than it's even better.

Have fun setting up Rain Dance with a Rock team though. Bringing in Kabutops is also an issue, as it is rather frail.

Cradily absorbs water, aerodyctyl have speed AND power as well as kabutops.

Well how many good poison types you know? Scolipede relies more on his/her Megahorn and Earthquake, Arbork has so-so stats but good movepool, Nidoking needs Sheer Force, Crobat is only OK, Drapion is gimmicky

The only poison types without many drawbacks are Gengar, Scolipede and MAYBE Roserade and Dragalge, and Poison is only effective against Grass and Fairy

Kabutops have speed, despite being frail
the weather for rocks is sandstorm, as it boosts their sp.def. no rain, because rocks hates water (xcept cradily) no sun, because solarbeams are annoyance (unless you are mecgro, who can use fire moves, but even him rather have sandstorm).

Without rain + Swift Swim, Kabutops' base speed is merely a mediocre 80. I use it a lot myself, but only on a dedicated rain team.

Weezing is a very good defensive wall with access to will-o-wisp, pain split, and levitate. Invest in sp.def and calm and burn phys attackers

Muk can also make a great bulky attacker, with access to curse, sneak, and ice punch

Venusaur is also a superb choice for either bulk or chloroffense

Amoongus for regenerator core,

Tentacruel can be extremely bulky, and is a great spinner

Plus, the ones you mentioned - mind you, i'm really not a fan of roserade or Dragalge lacking adaptability - they seem competitively weak

I do see that there's not many great options - though the ones that are viable are extremely useful and each serves a different purpose than the other, allowing for a great variety of roles in the team

Roserade is very good in both Grass and Poison monoteams, since with Hidden Power + Technician has an elemental beam of choice.
Fire is mostly used to cook Steels, immune to poison and resistant to grass.

If you think the enemy pokemon is more a setup or wall than a sweeper than you can send in a kabutops with swift swim and rain dance and have it wreck shit. It isn't as powerfull as some of the other rock pokemons, and I still prefer sandstorm. And by no means kabutops is a terrible pokemon.
