Long story long. I began with the show (even when I don't remember almost anything about the first seasons) and I always read a game magazine where they listed all 150 pokémon with the anime artwork. I just liked all those weird mons and saw which pokémon was missing on the show.
Even when my father wasn't pleased at all with me liking that stuff, he came home one day and said "look what I just bought you", and handed me Pokémon The First Movie. I watched the movie for entire days and I never got tired with it, latter the same happened with Pokémon 2000.
And then I met the games when I caught my brother playing Ruby on emulator. My father (again, even with all his videogame hate) told him to teach me how to play it. As of now I'm the only one of the two who continued with the vice.
Yeah, I like the franchise because of the stories, characters, mons, gameplay, the gimmicks, even the competitive side, I like it overall. But I guess I like it more because it reminds me of my family interactions. Hell, my father hated anime and videogames and he is the one responsable of me being a pokéfan. I don't know, it just give me... feels. Good feels. Is usually what get me up after a depresive day.
