>>18833736I'd be okay with this.
Though at the same time there are countless situations where the opponent plays a win-button and it becomes literally impossible to stop.
For instance; You have one pokemon that resist Rock on your team (Scizor does not, though its incredibly bulky so it might as well, for the sake of argument)
Because you're smart, you carry a fast Special attacker (Not just Washtom; it's pretty slow actually). I cant think of one in particular that isnt Jolteon or Hydreigon (aka, an actually good one) off the top of my head, but this is just an example anyway;
Scizor is knocked to low HP -or- is killed by Talonflame.
Your rock-resister is KOd
Enemy cloyster uses Shell Smash, white herb heals the defense drop.
Outside of intimidate, how do you stop this?
>Dragonitehaha, nope. Dont even try. Even Garchomp without a Scarf is outsped, and Multiscale doesnt stop icicle spear from KOing on the third hit. AV I havent tested but dm, you'll die regardless.
>muh talonflameOkay, if you can miraculously SD. (if you took previous damage, you could also Roost, which gains priority, and if the opponent uses Ice Spear for accuracy over Rock Blast, you will survive. But still cant kill it)
legitimate question; If you dont resist Rock, how can a standard OU-viable team counter +2 Cloyster?
What if it got BPd Calm Mind/Iron Defense, or even both?
>+2 252+ Atk Technician Mega Scizor Bullet Punch vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Cloyster: 144-169 (59.5 - 69.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO>Roar/Whirlwind/phazingthats assuming you can survive, in which case simply hitting it with special is better anyway.
>Prankster WoW/TWaveGimmicky as fuck, though it is a certain reliable counter/check
