Is Charizard the most overrated fat lizard, or what? Two Mega Evolutions when the other Kanto starters got one, its over-designed, pandering form getting into Super Smash Bros. 4 and a fan base that just can't get over it not being an overpowered Fire/Dragon typing.

Yeah, they really worked Charizard hard this generation. Hopefully they give the other starters some fairer treatment later on, but I'm not holding my breath or anything.

I just don't get the Charizard hate... If you don't like it don't use it. My fav starter will always be Squirtle (who got booted out of SSB) but I still like the big bird-lizard.

Charizard reminds me of the 'Wake Me Up' song. Not a bad song per se, but after hearing it 100+ times due to ridiculous amount of radio play/my friends playing it, I wanted to strange whoever wrote that song.

It has a disproportionate amount of marketing focus despite its peers being of equal importance role-wise in franchise history, which people find to be just a little grating at times.

Oh, and Charizard X's design is a left-fielder that seems to be built more on the basis of fanservice than being thematically consistent with the line it is associated with.

You do realise Mega-Evolutions as a thing are for fan-service? I get giving it two is pandering but that shit will print them money and I don't care, at least it's another pokemon. Look at other megavolutions. They're nearly all a curve ball into 'edgy' because that's what it's key demographic would like bar perhaps M-Ampharos or M-Mawile which are meant to be more feminine anyway
