Leads me to a second question: why aren't Shieldon, Bastiodon, Cranidos, Rampardos and Aerodactyl in that egg group then?

That's actually really bizarre. Maybe they fucked up and put Archeops and Carracosta in the wrong groups. Archeops only deserves to be in the Flying and maybe Monster group, and Carracosta in Water 1 and Monster. GameFreak mistakes along with Noibat not being in the Dragon group.

Thing is, Water 3 is mainly aquatic inverts. If it was a seabird, it would be Water 1 if anything.

Noibat is more fitting to be in the Dragon egg group (it's a dragon bat, not just a bat) than stuff like Feebas though. It's a bass. Treecko makes sense not being in the Grass group because it can't be in three groups at once, but Noibat is only in the Flying group.
