Greetings, /vp/. I am Professor Colress, former head of Team Plasma. I come to you today with a purely theoretical question, as I am lead to believe you people to be remarkably knowledgeable about pokemon science in spite of your... various other shortcomings. More importantly, you don't ask too many questions. As I am sure many of you 'Animefags' (I assume that is the correct term.) are aware, I once designed a device for Team Plasma that would allow the control of any Pokemon, no matter previous affiliation, power level or the strength of its bond with its trainer. However, I have recently become aware of something called 'Mega-Evolution', facilitated by a bond apparently stronger than any other potential bond between trainer and pokemon. Probably not how it actually works, but at the moment I am forced to make do with limited amounts of research material. My question is: Would it, now this is completely theoretical mind you, be possible to override a Mega-Evolved Pokemon's loyalty to their trainer?

Dude Colress what have you been listening too? Mega Evolution doesn't require any sort of bond. Just slap a mega stone on the first compatible pokemon you catch.
Colress
>>18834435 Really? Strange, all the research that Professor Sycamore has published with regards to the matter implied some sort of bond required for mega-evolution to work.

Why override it when you can just bounce yarn off of its head for a bit and raise its affection?
Colress
>>18834536 I... admit, that is... not an avenue of research I have been pursuing...

A-are you... THE Colress, from the video game?
Colress
>>18834580 Yes.
That's the part that you wonder about?

Have you and Ghetsis patched things up from threads long since past?

Colress
>>18834631 Well... that's a bit of a touchy subject, and rather irrelevant at the moment.
>>18834641 I... admit I am rather unsure what just happened.

>>18834669 They tried to ask you about your relationship status.
Now...
There have been some items in the past that can flip a pokemon's loyalties. Are you asking if those can affect megas?
Colress
>>18834724 That is, in fact, my question boiled down to its simplest form.
Anonymous
>>18834746 Alright then.
First, we'd have to determine the loyalty dynamics of a mega and compare them to that of a non-mega. Then, we'd have to see how the other items change the loyalty data. Adjust from there, and that's a highly probable yes.

Colress
>>18834767 Yes.
Unfortunately, I am presently, lacking in any way to procure data on the Loyalty Dynamics of a mega pokemon. I heard there was some sort of tower dedicated to it somewhere in the Kalos region, but recent events in that area have drawn... certain kinds of attention I would really rather not have nearby when I begin gathering such data.

>>18834810 You probably shouldn't be collecting data in person anyways. You should have a few usurpers doing things for you.
Colress
>>18834835 Unfortunately that is little help; the help I am presently able to enlist to my cause would easily be traced back to me.
Unless any of you would be willing to provide aid in this matter?
Anonymous
>>18834853 I'll think about it.
Colress
>>18834858 That's is about all I can ask for at the moment.
Should you decided to render aid at this juncture, then I thank you for advancing the cause of pokemon science.

Just throw rocks at shit like in the safari zone and you're bound to find a new mega-evo eventually.
