This. Being from Australia it's pretty easy for me to rack up dem miles, and I usually only WT breeding derps that are still usually at least 1-3 IV's.

The distance the traded Pokemon travels is what determines the amount of miles you'll get.
Further away means more miles.

The only thing you should be using miles on is Candies and PP Ups.

I've never played those games for dusk stones or evo items but that might be cool I guess.

Just get a pokemon that is offensively trained (Atk/SAtk and Spe). Clearing 3-5 battles nets me a stone.

Well that's what I did to get the Dusks I needed, it's still annoying mostly because I suck at those games.

I also was referring to some sort of game you play on the PokemonGL website to get them for 100 miles, I've never played those though.
