You know, I almost hate to say it, but with the online capability of the recent gens and the e-shop, I'd fork over a couple bucks to unlock legit access to Event Legendaries. Sure as hell beats travelling across the country or cheating them in.

Japan has the biggest player base though.
And unlike people in the west they aren't scared to go into shops and such to download them.

The interview I read said that they skipped the event for Arceus because of negative feedback/ confusion from the younger audience on how to pick up/collect the event legendary.

As for the Shaymin and Darkrai events in D/P, yes those were skipped over because of the E4 surf glitch, and the D/P Shaymin wasn't capable of collecting the Gracidea Flower. you needed a Platinum Shaymin to do that.
