Well, the Mega Evolution special was alright. Not too good, not too bad. The Iris special, for what it was worth, was alright I guess.

As for the anime, personally, I'm not into the whole shipping aspect, especially how adamant some people have been with their pairings. Mainly the whole Ash and Misty one. Seeing how the promoters and animators went guns blazing with the shipping of Ash and Serena with the posters and back story and how they're trying to make it canon, I suppose I'm interested in seeing how it goes.

You mean besides all the promotion that's been occurring and the fact that they made both Ash and Serena met each other before?

If you think about it, they've never done that before. It's probably one of the reasons that it's interesting to watch.

My only gripe with the new season, besides the animation gradually getting worse, is the lack of conflict between the group. Ash had a good dynamic with Misty and May where their personalities would clash, but then they came to terms and strengthened their bond. That just doesn't happen in XY, everyone is too busy jerking Ash off.

On a related now, I'd fucking cream myself if Charizard came back later on and developed a rivalry with Greninja.
