>>18946672Pretty much, you can't count Bicycle because it can be easily locked in the current format and you can't guarantee that you'll be able use it. Same goes for the Random Receivers, but for different reasons (Supporter rule, getting the wrong supporter).
>>18948843Those are great points, but let me clarify 'em a bit...
>You go there, pay the registration fee, then get six packs and the promo card. The fee is usually 30 bucks, but the tournament has two seatings then some TOs will drop 10 bucks from the second seating if you played in the first seating.
>You then build a deck with the packs you got and borrow energy from the TO (funny enough, any metal, dark, or fairy energy you use will be other energy cards with DARK METAL or FAIRY written across it in sharpie to prevent people from stealing the energy).>then everyone turns in their shit and gets two more packs for doing so.Depending on the TO, you can UYOE but it's a good idea to ask the TO if that's alright with 'em. And, in VERY rare cases, the TO will let the players keep the basic Energies they used. And by turning in your shit, he means the basic Energies you borrowed for the PR.
Another thing I should mention is (I'm not sure if it's the case for all PRs, but I know that my PRs do this) that you aren't restricted by the usual 4 card rule. That means if you pulled five Pikachu from you packs, you can use all of 'em. The only exception to this rule were Ace Specs.
Oh, and Mega EXs don't count as basic 'mons during a PR. You have to pull a non-Mega Charizard EX along with a Mega Charizard EX from your 6 packs to use the Mega EX.
>I'm fairly sure deck boxes were discontinued. Specifically remember the TO saying that at the prerelease I was at.I think you ma be right, my XY PRs gave out "vintage" deck boxes (They were BLW, EPO and NVI PR deck boxes) instead of XY deck boxes.
And I'll have some more PR tips in my next post.
