It's okay. He ended up living the dream and got all three anyway. Shame only two evolved. I wish Bulbasaur at least evolved into an Ivysaur. Even if they felt that Venusaur was too ugly, Ivysaur is really just a bigger Bulbasaur with flowerbud instead of a bulb. It's just as cute too.

As for Squirtle....
To be honest, I like its version of Hydro Pump, so I can't really complain.

I don't mind Blastoise, but I honestly prefer Squirtle more. So I don't really mind that Ash never evolved it.

Besides, luckily in the anime, not evolving has its advantages. Squirtle's a lot more agile and speedier than a Blastoise, even if in the games it has a lower speed stat, so that's actually a plus.
