I had yet to know about EV's at this time, because im casual, so while training a weavile on anything that gave a bunch of experience, I found a floatzel on route 209 that looked weird. I used a quick ball to see what the deal was, thinking it might be good at contests since it was all gold and shit. after that it was on my battle tower team, despite being just above adverage in general. a few months later I lost my diamond game and was very sad. After I got platinum in 2009, I encountered a weird red meditite while grinding through the main game. I only had 8 pokeballs so i was very scared. didnt even get it to red hp, so while it was yellow, i started throwing pokeballs and praying i could keep it. She was feeling nice, I guess, because it went in on the third ball. When asked to nickname, i looked up the shiny form of medicham, and called it Mediteal, because im creative. After that i beat the game and did general grinding for the frontier. For about two weeks up to this point, a freind of mine kept saying he had found two shiny budew randomly while walking through the big bush zone before the city with the grass gym. As I was doing some special EV training, I ran through there for about an hour and a half one day and a budew with a funny stripe on its belly rolled in from the side of my screen. I thought about this guy after i caught him. It actually had max speed, and i think its sp atk was high, because it got just 8 points below the max. I was proud of that one, but eventually traded it away to another /tr/ainer back when we were /tr/ainers. I hope hes enjoying it now. I still have the shiny medicham though. hes not that good, and only has a rash nature, but that blue high jump kick is always satisfying.
