>>18920881To be honest, I don't find anything wrong with roleplaying.
I used to roleplay a lot, around six years since I found it in high school; I've since stopped because I've lost interest. I was a semi-para to para lit writer, and my favourite used to be T2 fighting roleplay, followed by regular forum RPing.
I'm not a part of these threads or the haters, I just saw your enquiry and wanted to give you a response rather than some lame picture.
Roleplaying is, fantasy. Escapism, just like most formes of entertainment. You can be who or what you wish, and other people will go along with it. You can create a character, and bring it to 'life' with your writing, emotions, and actions, and you can make them look, act, and feel exactly as you want.
These characters will act upon and be acted upon by others. They may find love and lose it, or be scorned while being in unrequited love. They could kill, or be killed. You could create a being of evil, one of goodness, or an ordinary character who struggles just to remain normal. Anything could happen, if you choose to write it.
I've had many characters lose their lives, and even more who lose all the people they love. I've had characters who find happiness, succeed in their lives, and remain fairly normal.
Sorry, that's going a bit off tangent.
Roleplaying is entertaining, and fun for people, simple as that. Plotting with others for romantic relationships, rivalries, big fights,
killing new people who joined the forum and need to be put in their place, strange events, journeys with other characters, there's a lot you can do.
As for why people choose to roleplay here, over like every other possible place they could, I have no idea. Chans are an incredibly awkward and terrible place to try it, lots of sites are better and even tailor made for roleplaying.
This whole thing probably sounded a bit autistic, sorry about that.
