Who is the best pokemon for Prankster ability? Is Sableye the only choice or do Illumise and Volbeat have comparable stats?

Genie,Keys and Sableye are the best.

Genie has a nice offensive typing and has the power to stop potential threats

Keys is great support and typing

Sableye is more for stalling while tacking out physical threats and walls

It would have been better if it didn't take a turn for its ability to activate.

if MBanette was just a regular evolution you would probably see it used more often.

not really. Paralyze, then try to pass boosts is all it can really do, other pokes do it better. It seemed to work better in gen 5 when most people didn't know that sub could be encored, volbeat would just encore that then sub, then t wave, then pass.

Still not the best though

The best you could do with it is Tail Glow and hope to take something out or tail glow and baton pass out.

Even then it probably wouldn't survive in a game filled with priority

Unfortunately when you have to resort to toxic stall to make a pokemon useful, they are probably pretty bad in general, not to mention that plenty of other pokes do toxic stall better. The poor fireflies unfortunately aren't too bulky, and the only real niche volbeat has over most toxic stallers is the priority encore, which could be useful, but won't make the victory

I like Insomnia Banette.
Mega Banette needs a turn to activate Prankster, so it's always nice to have an extra immunity that forces switches. In this case, sleep immunity.

If you're using banette everybody knows you will try to mega-evolve it, and with half your moveset revolving around sleep I don't see how getting your priority moves faster (if they manage to put it to sleep) and scouting for items is worse than trying to force switches that probably won't happen.
