Speciaal Emboar is cool tho, will be a good alernative to the physical one until its HA won't be released.
One of my fav sets, beside Choiced with Sleep Talk is the Expert Belt with Superpower, Flare Blitz, Wild Charge/(Earthquake) and Scald used to hit physical behemoths like Torkoal, Golem and similar, always guarantees some kills luring switches with an apparent choiced set, breaking opp cores is satisfying plus Scald needs minimum Sp.Atk investment. Emboar is a bro, it's not amazing but knows its own.

The tropical mosquito is one of the concepts beyond Masquerain, masq/mosq doesn't play only with mask. But I do agree, a more explicit mosquito should be a thing, Leech Life and other draining moves. Maybe a boosting ability that increases draining moves power or health sipped.

Normal/Ghost for a few reasons. It was thought to be extinct back in 1933, but it was rediscovered in 1957, so it's almost dead? Anyway, Natives on Madagascar see it as a Symbol of Death and are very superstitious of it, though it may push it into the Dark-type instead...

I still want to see a Normal/Ghost Pokemon and this is one of the best candidates I can think of.

Fossil Dodo Pokemon?

Ok, there are no known fossils of the Dodo, but it's still an extinct Animal. Throw in a Sabre-Tooth Tiger or a Giant Sloth in there too if you want to.

Could be a regional normal type gimmick like Farfetch'd, Castform, Kekleon & co were in their areas and generations. I like the idea, isn't it also the animal that licks its fur in order to cover it with toxins? I know we already have Umbreon that has poison on its skin but a Normal/Ghost with Poison Point or Touch looks cool too.

Anyway, another normal gimmick mon should be a Koala with Sap Sipper and something else.
One of the most clichè famous exotic animals.

Sulfur Volcano as a rock/poison type.

At risk of making Pokemon edgy, I want to have more hostile settings in Pokemon. Hoenn probably was the closest with a volcano/ ash field and sandstorm desert.

Yup. Galapagos marine iguana. Evolved to eat underwater algae when the resources in the land became more scarce. Because the island has no natural predators, they can just sit still in the rocks warming up for hours in the sun after they eat (they are cold blooded after all, they need to warm up to enhance their metabolism). Nothing really hunts them, the eagles are to small to be able to grab an adult.
