A and D 'strafes' the camera back and forth.
Right click and move the mouse to rotate. If it's not rotating like you want, try changing the camera > mode on the left menu to spherical.
General things:
Radius - makes your cursor bigger or smaller.
Intensity - how fast it does its changes when you click.
Negative - checking this will make the tool go down instead of up. Useful for making mouths and holes and stuff.
Continuous - checking this will make the tool do its thing as long as the mouse button is held down. Usually it only goes up for a little and stops unless you wiggle around or something. This is really useful for making long things.
I still don't know what half the buttons are but this has been the most helpful to me so far:
Brush - makes like a plateau with a flat top. Somewhat useful for small things.
Inflate - What I use most to make the starting circle into other shapes. If you want to add a leg or an arm to your ball, hit continuous and just click and hold. The thing will form straight at you. It might not look like it's doing anything but it is. Rotate it a little until its the length you want. If you want to make a big thing, like extend the circle into a torso, just jack up the radius to like 200 and do the same thing. Lastly, this is also useful to add bulk to spindly little things you make with drag. Just increase the radius enough so that the whole appendage is covered.
(I'm skipping a bunch here - I only really used crease and it's not that hard)
Drag - Gives you the most control with the most variable results. You can get stuff to go anywhere but they usually look weird. But that's the fun of it! Useful for making like flippers or small spikes though.
Paint - color! Beware there is no color picker, so if you have one color remember the hex or you'll never get it back. As such, I like to do my coloring in layers. Paint the whole thing the base color, then add other colors on top.
