>>18913264I can't stand to watch the early seasons because it's too childish. It has been that way for a long time with me. I will grant you that perhaps I should've seen all along that the entire anime is that way more or less. It took BW for me to see that, but also because of it, I can't stand ANYTHING that's childish. I will maintain that I preferred the writing of AG and DP, though. Now, though, XY has not done anything that impressive. But, that mostly may be that after seeing the first gym, I realized that all of this junk is flipping the same and hoping for something I have not seen probably isn't going to happen. With Serena doing nothing, we don't even have the same factor as AG since long droughts of filler cannot be broken by a secondary quest. This was also a point to make, since if having a second quest is the only way they can make things be interesting often enough, then something is wrong. Why do we watch this thing that's essentially one big waiting game for something interesting to happen? I have seen the reasons that most people give for watching this, and it is not why I watch. It has become nothing other than some perverted pedo watch or shipping delusion. The one thing I will credit the original series for is having the most original content, along with Orange. After that, it became just going by the game locations and something rather formulaic happens. I do not believe this makes it better than later story arcs. It might have had better ideas, but they are mired by childish shenanigans. Later arcs are better in tone, but they get all samey and uninspired. I know these two things can easily be melded, but they are not good at doing that consistently. They have to make a plot that lasts for years, and they greatly suffer for it. I don't know why they feel like they have to make the anime last for the whole gen. It may have to do with the marketing department. In a way, I pity the writers of this show
Why have you not boycotted this season?
