That's a good melody actually! I'm probably reading too much into it, but it makes me feel adventurous... Pokemon Blue was my first Pokemon Game and I remember feeling good when I heard Vermillion's Theme. It just has a sense of progress. My favorite melody is probably worse, but it's the Route 10 theme in Unova. Here!

To me, that song represents Fate... the climax is approaching. With all 8 Badges, we go to confront N. The clashing of Ideals and Truths is imminent... after all has been said and done, the one whose Will is stronger will pave the way for a new world. It all comes down to this. Really for me, Opelucid (W) -> Rt 10 -> Victory Road (that buildup) -> League give a great sense of "endgame" not a lot of games (pokemon or not) can do

I agree with you about Vermilion, though. It's one of the best Town/City themes ever. Vermilion, Pallet, Goldenrod, Route 104, Slateport, Jubilife at night, and Jubilife in X and Y are my favorites. I'm sure I like more, but only these come to mind. Goldenrod is m second favorite, and the X/Y remix of Jubilife is now my absolute favorite.
