Do Gamefreak hate grass starters?

Because it seems like that GF goes out of its way to make all but the Bulbasaur line shit competitively and in-game.

Grass is a shit typing. The bulba line pretty much sums up the best it can be, so of course everything else is going to be worse. It's that or a venusaur clone every gen.

Dude, it's not that they make Grass starters shit, it's just both Water and Fire starters are better types, and unless the grass starter has nice secondary type, it will be outclassed by the other two. Also, Grass is more about stall, with Leech Seeds and Giga Drains, and in-game you don't do stall, you rape shit with superior power.

One on one is a completely different game, theres not much else it can effectively do that too and even then its attack is god awful so even a Char may be able to live that before a swords dance

I think having Grass resist Fairy would be a good start.

I think it would make sense. Fairies are often depicted as guardians of nature. They wouldn't want to hurt nature.
