When you use U-Turn/Volt Switch you have to choose who you switch to when selecting the move

it should match the species to the fake pokemon, obviously.

You could till guess the enemy has a zoroark, but you won't be able to tell when it comes out.

In the metagames where you choose just some of your party to take to battle, Team Preview makes a lot of sense; VGC in Gen 4 was shit because you just had the same four Pokémon in the same order, with no variation, but I see why it would make 6vs6 metagames more boring.

The typing of Pokémon are never displayed in game. Only the typing of attacks.
