I think immunities are SE; e.g. ground is super effective against flying, so Earthquake would hit Talonflame for neutral damage (Fire resists, Flying is weak).

Seriously, Normal type is kind in inverse. Weakness Policy Diggersby is fucking great. There's a separate thing for it on showdown so go nuts sometimes. Just be careful, ubers are allowed

EVs are simple as fuck, put the points in the stat you want. Movepools just comes with experience. Natures are decently important but I've never bothered worrying about them too much. IV's I still don't bother with.

Natures make or break a Pokémon.
IVs matter too in the final stats but there can be over 100 points difference between a positive and a negative nature in some cases.

Let's see what candidates for my team could be:
>bulky sweeper Leafeon with Leaf Blade, Return/X-Scissors, Quick Attack, and Sunny Day/Swords Dance
>eviolite Porygon2 with Tri-Attack, Shadow Ball, Signal Beam/Ice Beam, and Recover
>defensive Glaceon with Ice Beam/Icy Wind, Shadow Ball, Wish, and Protect

I also need something to counter Garchomp, maybe a fire-type.

Tri-Attack is now the coverage move that Shadow Ball would be. Porygon2 would now be blessed with 3 support moveslots as Tri-Attack would hit everything neutrally (you could even slap Thunderbolt on it for destroying Garchomps).

You need Shadow ball to hit the omnipresent Normal-types super effectively though. Signal Beam would be great for its broad super effective coverage—or you could run Ice Beam for taking down Avalugg (though with its low special defense, Tri-Attack might be enough).
Magic Coat might be a better use of a moveslot though.

Magic Coat is one of these moves which everyone forgets exists. I run it on my Lopunny, and it's great for bouncing back hazards or status.
