Technically that blood orange Gyrados. First seen was a Machoke (Ran out of balls), first obtained was a Snivy. Traded it away for something a long ass time ago. Now the oldest one that I have is a Tevenant from the Friend Safari.

Excluding the obvious Red Gyarados, my first shiny was in Sapphire: A shiny Linoone.

My Sapphire was loaded with shinies apparently. Some days after Linoone, I caught a shiny Gloom and a second Linoone after that.

Also encountered a tentacool, but like most retards, I escaped before I fully took notice.

I found a Shiny Krokorok while dicking around in Black...but I killed it. It hurts. ;-;

Excluding handouts, trades, and hacks, those are the only two I've found of my own luck.

Not counting in-story shinies, Shinx was my first shiny as well, in Diamond. It was the third in a pokeradar chain. The only other shiny I've encountered since then was a Durant in X that I KO'd by mistake.

I encountered it before I had even heard of shinies or the red Gyarados (went into the game blind).

It was the first Krabby I had encountered in that playthrough so I caught it. I wouldn't find out about what made it so special until like, weeks later.

Incidentally, my best buddy's first shiny was a Graveler. Who chose to explode on the first turn. He didn't play pokemon again for a couple days.
