Their meta is different. No Smogon influence so there's less copypasted sets. And before someone calls me out I have no problem with Smogon.

They are fucking impossible to predict though. I just went against a non-U-turn Meinshao. It used Knock off instead and pretty much fucked up my entire match and made me lose.

What I wanna know is why there's no fucking 6v6 matchmaking.

It's the fucking definitive playstyle of Pokemon yet I can only play it with friends. It's almost impossible to make a usable 3 Pokemon team.

it's unacceptable for the developers not to support the most pure way of playing pokemon (since that's the way the single player is technically played). it would without a doubt be the most popular mode

Since Gen 5 the gym leaders had at most 3 Pokemon and the E4 had 4 the first time

I believe Japan played 3 vs 3 matches too in DP which is why it became the format for Gen 5 and 6

Technically, doubles 4v4 is the ONLY officially supported format.

I remember reading a competition manual from TPCi, and singles were mentioned as a format "for local tournaments and casual matches between friends". Shit was funny as fuck.

That's what I liked about pokémon, back in the days. After the game went full retard with D/P online, all the guys I battled in my city had different teams with different strategies. Nowadays you can already tell which moves a pokémon has and that is stupid.

Because it's not, especially not in Japan. Bring 6, choose 3 has been used in Japanese Pokémon tournaments as early as 1997.

That's the exact opposite.
All those teams with identical pokémon are the result of casuals that cannot put together a team on their own and just search on the internet for advices, ending up using the strategies suggested on various sites.

While not the best choice, I'll admit that fire blast can hit physically defensive things harder then more of talonflames physical attacks.
Ex. avalugg, aggron, etc

Its situational, but not entirely retarded.

Even then, you'd run Overheat for more damage and reliability. You're rarely going to use this more than one time, so the SpA drop is not an issue.

Similar to how mixed Infernape may run Overheat.
