It's sad that an episode gets delayed/off the schedule but honestly, I think they'd get more flak for leaving it on the schedule itself. And, even as an anime episode, I can see why it'd be in bad taste. At least for Pokemon, it doesn't have to do this very often.

2. He's almost always had at least 1 Pokemon that never fully evolves on his team so I guess that's a pattern they just want to keep on going.
3. Now that one I do know about. The turnover on these (and other shows with a mostly younger audience) is insane. I think it's been said that turnover is as few as 2 years and as late as 5 years. So, every probably 5 years or so, a kid watching this show has likely grown out of it and moved on. Keeping the protag the same with a changing cast just helps kids who do follow it keep from having a ton of major changes and makes it easier to introduce to a new set of kids each time.

First off, Ueda also voices Froakie and various other unimportant background characters, so he's a full-time regular actor on the show now. He was brought back specifically because of fan demand to get Wobba back on the show.
Secondly, database recordings don't sound good. Ikue Ohtani took a maternity break from the show during late AG, during which Pikachu was "voiced" by old recordings taken from earlier episodes, and it sounded pretty awkward and off. They're not going to do that unless they have to.

So I'm currently watching the Aquarium Episode and, is it just me, or are the writers going the extra mile to convince us that Ash is competent and not a rookie as he appeared in Unova? It just seems like whenever an old Pokemon is seen, Ash s the first to say, 'Oh, it's _____.'... even going as far as saying the typings... among other things.

2ch is an extremely popular Japanese board and I remember back when Ash VS Roxie Part 2 one of the animation directors went onto 2ch and claimed that the only reason the battle was 6v3 was to promote BW2 and make kids think Roxie is super strong. He personally didn't like the episode and the team were more anxious to get it done and start on the Meloetta arc.
