Picked up both the HG/SS special volumes and absolutely loved them. Gold was a prick though, so as much as I want to go back and read from the beginning, im not sure I can do so if the focus of the Johto Arc is on him. I REALLY loved Silver and Kris, but Gold made me want to rip the pages out. Funny, because In-Game, he's my favourite Protagonist. No idea how they fucked him up so bad.
But yeah, from what I read, which was mostly the HG/SS chapters, I loved it, and will probably start reading from the beginning eventually.
How is it now? I heard that it's been getting worse and worse. The character names Blacktu and Whitetu made me facepalm, and last I heard, Team Flare are forcing Shauna to be evil, and she's been cutting bitches up with a Honedge like a sword.
