Eh, I'm not sure what you're trying to accomplish, just run whatever rock makes rain last longer or something like specs. It doesn't show the Hidden Power, btw. I assume grass.

You have no hazards. No rocks, no defog, no rapid spin. You have flamethrower in the rain. I think you want to stay as long as possible with that goodra, so I don't think you should run Draco Meteor. Actually, I wouldn't run Goodra in the first place, but I'd run Pulse over Meteor on that set.

I don't think I understand why you'd ever run Bullet Punch on Toxicroak.

I'd also advice against Swampert. It's probably not going to accomplish much. I'd run Kabutops or Kingdra over it all day.

Your team is kinda way too slow for a rain team. You want to wreck your opponent before rain goes away, not stall your own weather out.

I just noticed the flamethrower thing, was a mistake on my part. Meant to put thunder. Also, I'm completely new to weather teams (I didn't play gen 5) so I'm not too sure what I'm doing.

Bullet punch for priority. What's a better move I should use?

I put Swampert there because I needed a physical wall. Any suggestions for a physical wall?

No you didn't. First of all, that set is not a phys wall, but a sweeper. But ignoring that, if you're going to run weather, you should go offensive. Offense doesn't need walls. To switch between sweepers you use pivots such as Rotom, Mega Manectric or Tornadus-t. In this generation, rain only lasts a limited amount of turns. Weather defense can't really work since you struggle at taking adventage of your own weather because you stall it out yourself, while weather offense attemps to kill as much things as possible before the weather disappears.
If you're going to run a rain team, you don't need things such as walls. Some would work anyways, such as Ferrothorn or Amoonguss, because they can actually support the team, but running weather you should priorize having a good offensive core than using walls.

Looks much better than before but I'd try to add hazards. Rocks are very important and not minding entry hazards is playing at a disadventage.

I also reccomend life orb over specs Kingdra in the rain. The standard rain Kingdra set is something like Draco Meteor - Scald/Dragon Pulse - Hydro Pump - Rain Dance. I'd also run some speed so you're not slow as shit outside of the rain and don't get revenge killed by random things such as Deo-s or scarfchomp in the rain.

How should I be building WP tyranitar? Right now I have lonely 252 Atk/230 HP/28 Spe, so I outspeed + nature base 100s after a rock polish and have maximum bulk. My moves are RP, Ice Beam, Crunch, and Stone Miss.

I'm also new to weather teams so I'd like some feedback on this bulky offense Sand Team I've been working on.

The main core is AV TTar and Sitrus Berry Trevenant for that ridiculous synergy and WoW, seed, trapping, etc.

My lead is specially defensive Heatran with SR and Roar (although would it's trapping set work better with a stally/bulky Sand team?).

To go well with TTar I chose Garchomp as my Mega, to be used as a wallbreaker as well as Sand immunity.

Threw in a cleric Sylveon who also has good synergy with Heatran, also Toxic Wish Protect and Moonblast.

And then I rounded it out with a fast revenge-killer/late-game sweeper with Alakazam, for Sand and SR immunity.

Is there a general strategy I should hope to accomplish? Right now I'm going for stalling and attacking while Sand, hazards, and status wears the opposing team down.

Also should I run Sandstorm on amy other pokemon, because Tyranitar is my only mon who can summon sand. If so, which one? Thanks.

What I do is test new teams on Showdown alts. That way you get a feel for the team style before putting your rank at risk.

it is a huge threat in gsc ou, yea. usage wise it's not that popular even though para+wak teams are super easy to build. I guess many people have problems getting past skarmory, or crippling the threats and decide going a "safer" win way with lax or something. Wak is definitely not everywhere or splashable on every team, but with the right support it is probably one of the scariest mons in the tier.

Talonflame is top OU with its revenge killing and cleaning abilities, usually run with a band, Greninja is also decent because fast, STAB on everything and resisting Dark and Ghost on the switch in is pretty neat (it's frail as shit though).
Balky things like Heatran, Lando-T, Rotom-W and Scizor are still around, plus Aegislash and Assault vest users like Conk. The metagame is pretty offensive, you have Deoxys HO running around with Defiant users (Bisharp, Thundurus) to take advantage of Defog, megas like Pinsir/Mawile/Zard X/Ttar that become very hard to stop after like one boost. Also baton pass got new things to play with in Speed boost Scolipede and Sylveon, and it's not easy to deal with, so you might run into that. That's a kind of hard phaze. You're much better than shit players but you can't touch good player's toes. I'd say at that point it's just practice. Maybe trying new play styles, creating new teams or playing with stolen teams could help a bit.

Actually, Arcanine does have something over Entei, namely Wild charge, Crunch and Close combat. Slowbro gets like 2HKOd by band Wild charge so that's actually really neat.

I've been IV breeding my team, which includes a Modest Houndoom with Flash Fire, settling for 5 IV's with the lack in Attack. During my hatching to find the IV's I was looking for, I hatched a shiny male Houndour with Flash Fire and 4 IV's, lacking in Attack and Speed. The thing is, Houndoom has been one of my favorites since original Gen II, and shiny Houndoom is awesome because it's blue, which is my favorite color.

Stone Edge isn't really worth it cause the two guys you really wanna RAWK (Talonflame+Pinsir) will out speed you and OHKO you, it does have its uses that you can slap up the Flying Charizard brothers, but they do call it Stone Miss for a reason.

It really comes down to your choice. If don't have any other way of dealing with Charizard, i would go with Stone Miss.

Get a Landorus instead to counter fighting types, you have enough stuff to counter Ice beams. Intimidate, SR
Or a SDef cleric Sylveon, and make rotom 252HP/Def and give Chomp a Sash and SR. Stone Edge/Pioson Jab/Fire Blast as filler with Claw/EQ

I was torn on the two, mostly because Thundurus-T seemed better at replicating what M-Luc did for the team; but at the same time I was looking at other Spec sweepers to fill in that slot that I'm unsure on (I was thinking defog latias, but that's ass to try to push through bank)

Rotom is spread to survive the Char-Y solarbeam while still having extra physical bulk on the extra end.

I haven't had trouble with Hazards even in ladder testing before, and have yet to run into the need for rocks so far.

I use it because I prefer the bulky physical wall/calm mind build and it tied in well with what my team needed at the time (A physical wall). Just because he's not OU doesn't mean he suddenly has ceased to do his job.

I was thinking landorus to spread the volt-turn core further, but at the same time I felt like a specially oriented pokemon would be required to balance out how the team was settling (since a Special Sweeper was going out).

I probably could re-gen a chomp with SR, and I'll probably try one out to see if hazards improve performance, if not, I'll just set it back.

I don't know how I feel about a Cleric sylveon (this also doesn't do anything in regards to the defog field)

As said before, things I was looking at were:
-Thundurus NP sweeper
-Utility or CM Latias
-Special Sweeper Heatran
-LO or EB Keldeo

Mostly because the team with Mega-Lucario never really gave me any major issues that I wouldn't chalk up to me personally misplaying, and by extension I've been working under the assumption that I just need to fill in that hole on the team with another pokemon that does a job similar to M-Luc, while maybe also fixing up type weakness issues that do exist (Namely Fire weakness that was on half the team [but res'd by other half] and dark weakness found on 2 mons, but no other pokemon.]

No hazards, no defog/spin, common weaknesses everywhere, subpar sets, lack of coverage on a half of the meta, I don't know, those seems to be the biggest issues.
You need to rely on Excadrill so much yet you only have 5 turns of sandstorm, I dunno. You'll probably need practice if you make changes so just play with a team you know how to use and pray to god your opponents are on a similar level.

That team is sub par as fuck, though.
One of the things you should think before using a pokemon is asking yourself "is there a pokemon that does everything this pokemon does but better?". If the answer is yes, then use the better one. You have Cradily, for example. Cradily is not only not good but there are many, many pokemon that just do everything Cradily could hope to do a million times better.

I'm not sure what you'd Taunt, no walls enjoys getting LO Knock offed, and if you suspect one coming in you can SD. Weavile's main role is revenge killing and cleaning because of speed and reliable STAB priority, so I'm not sure how Bisharp with unreliable priority and much less speed is a better one (that said Bisharp is much better in OU).

Life orb gets you the guaranteed OHKO on 252HP Aegislash, and the power boost for Iron head is very noticeable. Granted, the recoil wears you down and you can use Dread plare if you want, but I like LO for the power.

Guys, I just beat pokemon X and was going to get back into showdown, but I had one question I couldn't find an answer to: What happens to a pokemon if it uses trick, or knock-off lands on it when it's mega-evolved? Is the megastone consumed on evolution or what?

Can you imagine this in other playstyles: "hey find a pokemon that completely counters stall or balance offense". Shit doesn't make sense. They are treating the conversation like they would a single pokemon suspect test. There wasn't this conversation towards the end of Gen 4 when Garrett Stall teams could handle every possible threat and was obviously the optimal playstyle. There was no "hey let's nerf/ban stall".

Pick one or two pokemon, and then pick the rest of your team to support it. It honestly isn't too hard. Have a dragonite? Make sure you have rapid spin/defog
Ferrothorn? Might want something that can take fire attacks

Teambuilding is the hardest part of battlan. I remember starting out and after a while I learned all the sets and stats of all the mons. I'd make great predictions and plays, but was usually let down by some fatal flaws in how my team was made. It is usually a good idea to look at some very successful teams from others and look into the thought process of the team builders to get a better idea of what works and what doesn't.

Who's a good 6th to round out my squad? I have problems with getting set up on by the likes of edgyzard, bisharp and m-gyarados so I was thinking quag, but that cuts a lot of my offensive presence. I'm also considering conk for his ability to mach punch right past 2 of those and tank shit on the side.

Go for max speed on Venomoth, it really doesn't have bulk worth saving. Sleep powder is probably a better option than giga drain, being able to sleep something you can't beat opens up the door for something else to get a free switch, and you can always come back in to set up later once your checks are weakened or dead

Spikes are ass on Chesnaught, he baits in way too many common defoggers that he can't do shit to in return. Seeds are a better option, and go with spiky shield over roar. Wood hammer doesn't make any sense on a defensive set, either swap it out with sub to avoid status or change it out for seed bomb

Crawdaunt is made of paper and investing in bulk is a lost cause. Go for max speed and swap out swords dance for waterfall, you really need a reliable STAB for breaking down things that won't die in one hit. If you really want to keep a setup option, swap swords dance out for dragon dance and swap superpower for aerial ace to get past Chesnaught (the thing that resists all your STABs and doesn't give a fuck about superpower). Put that LO back on too, Crawdaunt relies on being able to kill things in one hit because it really can't take a hit in return

Fire punch is a 5th gen tutor move, so i'm pretty sure it's not compatible with protean. Kec itself is pretty redundant on this team anyway, it doesn't offer any coverage you don't already have (except iron tail, which is shit) and machamp pulls off the role of bulky assault vest user ten times better

Your team is very slow for UU, i'd consider swapping out kecleon for something naturally speedy or a scarfer. Victini would fit on your team nicely, you have a lot of things that compliment it type-wise and it's a capable revenge killer

UU also has a lot of powerful special attackers, so you might want to consider a specially-defensive mon to round out your team. If Latias isn't banned in PO go with that, it can defog and wishpass to heal your bulkier mons that don't have recovery of their own

Actually, Kec IS my Special wall, 90 base attack with all STABs means I heal more with Drain Punch/hit harder with everything. PO hasn't looked into the legitimacy of Kec yet so I'm not complaining

Will dibby into DD Crawdaunt again, SD has just been a nice picker/cleanup so far

And Chesnaught's not necessarily a defensive set, kindof like a pseudo Skarmory, maybe Synthesis will do. Fuck 90% accuaracy

And I really stopped caring about Speed with Sticky Web everywhere. Just sayin

Building a team just to get started playing some battles online, first Pokemon game since Yellow, so I'm still getting to grips with the deeper details, just finally got all of these with 5IV's:

Protean Greninja (Scald, Dark Pulse, Grass Knot, Ice Beam)
Blaziken (not too sure about this one, liked him playing the story but I'm now thinking how useful he could be)

i'd swap togekiss for like a conkeldurr. you already have goodra, a special attacker with really high special defence. togekiss is a little more support-ish but goodra will do fine. you don't have any bulky physical attack/normal defence, that's where conkeldurr comes in. i like to run drain punch, mach punch, knock off, ice punch. you have two options for ability and item. you could go guts w/ flame orb, or iron fist w/ assault vest or leftovers. i like guts and flame orb best.
as a sixth mon, i think that excadrill would be a nice fit since you don't have a spinner. mold breaker w/ leftovers, EQ/iron head/rock slide/rapid spin.

a spinner is a pokemon with the ability rapid spin (or defog, but that's different i'll get to that). rapid spin is a normal type move with 20 base power, so using it as a damage move is retarded since it's pretty shit like that but it's a great move because it clears hazards like stealth rocks and both kinds of spikes from the field on your side. if you don't know what those do, they damage your pokemon on switch in. stealth rocks is factored as a rock type, normal spikes as ground type, poison spikes as poison type. rapid spin gets rid of all of that so that your pokemon doesn't get die as soon as it switches in.
defog is a really similar move that serves a slightly different purpose. it clears all hazards from the field, including those that you've placed on their side. it also lowers their evasion so they're easier to hit.
i know there is only one spinner in OU (excadrill), not sure how many defoggers there are but in my opinion the best one is zapdos.

That said, if he isn't playing smog-rules, his team should be:
-Mega Lucario (Special Sweeper)
-Aegislash (Mixed set)
-Scizor (Either Banded, or SD variant)
-Heatran (Offensive, sets rocks)
-Ferrothorn or Bronzong
-Empoleon (Physically defensive)

Issue is getting that specially defensive one.

DD CharizardX is frustrating as fuck to use. It almost always gets a kill or two. But is stopped from full on sweeping because of his STAB options. Flareblitz always seems like overkill, but I haven't tried Fire Punch. Dragon Claw always seems too weak when you need it, but Outrage gets you stuck and is unusable. And then I'm at this weird part of the ladder where Gooey Goodra is on every team and does nothing against you but gives you -1 speed.

Gooey Goodra is almost useless. I think the reason why people use it so much is because it was hyped to death, or autists want to make it more fetishy. Sap Sipper Goodra makes it completely obsolescent and is the superior ability. Goodra wasn't designed for tanking physical attacks and that's one of the reasons why it is inferior to Sap Sipper in every way. Leaving your unboosted Goodra in against a powerful physical attacker isn't necessarily the smartest thing to do either.

The pathetic -1 speed loss isn't worth having the ability over sap sipper. It is usable, but only on the infestation set. It really doesn't punish physical attackers at all, and you will risk having your Goodra OHKO'd or at the very least badly damaged. Heatran will fuck Goodra up badly as it doesn't care the slightest about speed.

It's not a terrible team but you can do much better.

Either replace Bandzor with Bulky Scizor or replace Defog with Superpower. Also, Bug Bite > U-Turn easily
You don't need Blastoise with Defog Scizor, and even then Blastoise isn't that great. I'd replace it with something else. Don't know what though. Also, replace Sash Aero with a more offensive set. I'd just replace Aero completely though.

Originaly Scizor run Super Power, then Brick Break, and finally Rock Smash in an attempt to exploit Technician and the -1 Def that it gives to oponents, so Defog is really a new adition, at first thinking in Charizard but i cant find a free slot, the 4 atacks are too good.

Just run Lefies with Roost / U-Turn / Defog / Bullet Punch and you should be fine. You can get away with not running any speed. However, since you insist on using Blastoise, maybe make Scizor bulky SD (replace Defog with SD and U-Turn with Bug Bite or even Knock Off). You definitely don't need both Defog and Rapid Spin though. I'd also run Toxic over Ice Beam on Blastoise and give it a bulky spread.
Aero should be running Life Orb with 3 attacks and either Taunt, Stealth Rock, Hone Claws, or Roost.

Maybe slow down with the SAtk to 116? That will not change the probability of 93% oh OHKOing zard Y but will reduce the probability of OHKOing Garchomp from 81% to like 60%.

VGC gods please help this scrub.

I've been trying to build a usable Karenfag team for a while now utilizing my top 3 favorite Pokemon for Battle Spot: Agility Sash Porygon-Z, Leftovers Lanturn and DD Head Smash Tyrantrum. What else should I run? The remaining 3 Pokes I don't mind what they are as long as I like them. I've been running Greninja and 2 random placeholders while looking for the right mons to fit in. I'm asking about speed creeping with Rotom because I'm not sure what it's REALLY important to outspeed in the format. Other Rotoms are for sure something to outspeed but I don't know to what point should I speed creep to actually creep them, since everyone tried to speed creep with their rotoms might as well just not invest in it at all and go for full bulk. This is a spread I stole from Nugger Bridge. You can use it as a base because I'm not sure what's common in VGC recently. The spread is 252 HP / 68 Def / 156 SAtk / 12 SDef / 20 Spd (It has Sitrus Berry though). The user said that he also copied the EV spread, but claims that the EVs let it live +1 Dragon Claw from ZardX. I'd maybe start with that and then mold the EVs to meet your teams needs based of playtest.

Would loading up on Fire/Ground Immunities/Resistances help alleviate that?

What I am thinking though is:
Specially Defensive Rachi
Spec Attacking or Utility Cobalion
Agility Gross
Banded Flygon

Then filling in the other bits to help cover my weak spots.

Maybe use Rotom-H to fill in 1 slot, as that give another fire resistance and ground immunity to balance out.

Then maybe Scrafty or Absol to round it out and add in more dark res while not adding too much to the ground weak portion of the table.

And in that case:

Cobalion: Special Utility
Jirachi: Specially Defensive Physical Attacker
Metagross: Sweeper, Physical
Rotom-H: Special tank
Scrafty: Physically defensive
Flygon: Physical Sweeper

-you'll want everything at lv. 100
-hp ice on cobalion really isn't hitting much, you're better off going with something like taunt or iron head imo.
-you need body slam over slam on jirachi.
-meteor mash over zen headbutt is a good choice for metagross, you aren't really hitting much with the latter and florges is super common.
-i'd go with a scarf over a band on flygon, otherwise you have issues with common scarfers like hydreigon and darmanitan.
-consider knock off over crunch on scrafty.
-protect on rotom isn't very useful in singles

mostly small things, otherwise it looks alright at least on paper.

I put everything at 50 because we use 50 all for In-cart play, and I needed to check my calculations for that.
-Understandable for cobalion, But what about HP Water for surprise hits on Fire/Ground types?
-Understandable for metagross as well, I was mostly trying not to overload on Steel STAB (but I guess I messed up with Ice being on a bit too much at the same time)

I know the redundancy is bad, especially with fire commonality, But Jirachi/Meta/Cobalion was something I kind of didn't want to budge from. That said, in previous stints into heavy weakness, I've found myself doing alright when the rest of the team can tank the typing weaknesses.

What's a good way to use Azumarill and Charizard X together? also sharp beak would be a better choice on talon flame than life orb, you're never gonna use flare blitz on something that isn't super effective so it doesn't really need the boost, sharp beak will give the same boosts as life orb to brave bird but without the 10% recoil

you could give hp investment and special defense investment and then switch your klefki's EVS to full def instead of half in def and half in spD and just use them as a core for sorts

then give sylveon wish and heal bell for support, hyper voice would be good too so you can hit through subs

my main sylveon i have spec'd into sp.df and sp.attack gave her leftovers, Calm Mind,Draining Kiss(THIS IS IMPORTANT WRECKS SHIT),Moonblast and you're 4th you can use whatever you want I found really I've found toxic as well as substitute being nifty.
This has been the more successful one of the two

I also run a shits n giggles one with defense and hp evs w. cute charm and leftovers as well since it's base sp.def is pretty good. Rest,Sleep Talk, Shadow ball, Draining kiss. This ones super hit or miss probably gonna change the move set.

just remember you're more than capable of sweeping and tanking but you're gonna be slow as fuck so make sure you have someone to fill that void.

This has been my standard OU team for a while, and it's been doing pretty well- the basic goal is to set up rocks with Ferro/Cripple their lead with Rotom and then pivot between Rotom, Ferrothorn, Togekiss, and Charizard-X to put defensive pressure on the opponent- Charizard-X is defensive because it lures in Dragonite's counters only to burn them, affording Dragonite a sweep late-game. I spin with Tentacruel when necessary. Togekiss is 252+ with a Life Orb because almost everyone expects paraflinch/nasty plot, neither of which hit too hard off the bat, and then get 2HKOd by a timely STAB move or Fire Blast.
What I need help with is finding a place for a dedicated wallbreaker, as Deoxys-D fucks over my team pretty bad- but I'm not sure who to change.

Who are you planning to pass to with Ninjask?
With its frailty- especially since you're running Leftovers on it- you're not likely to get more than +2 on it, which isn't helping the rest of your team do anything at all, because they're not invested in speed. I'd replace it with a utility mon, because you're going to need hazards/defogging/spinning desperately- Forretress comes to mind.
