To celebrate my graduation I would like to get a tattoo. I would like it to be a pokemon tattoo because, well pokemon is my favorite thing.

I've never gotten a tattoo and I'm honestly not sure what I really want. I want it to be cool, or at least I don't want to look like a total nerd. I was thinking of something eeveelutions related.

Any of you guys have pokemon tattoos? What would be a cool/original pokemon tattoo idea?

Don't get anything huge or gaudy. Pick your favourite gym badge and get it somewhere usually concealed by clothing.

Maybe the Game Freak logo? Or a badge? I found this when looking up Eeveelutions, the type symbols from the TGC would be nice too. Make sure is can be covered by clothing also like >>18957595 said.

I was re-watching ink master and suddenly thought that maybe Articuno would look cool as a tatoo if well done. Kinda like an ice phoenix, but you need a damn good tattoo artist for that.

Get something that is special to you and make it yours. Have a favorite Pokémon? Are you sure? Then get something like that one but stylized in a way that exactly matches your personality. See attached image.

The image you posted is an amazing tattoo, but I could never get it because the original style does not match me at all.

I've also considered getting a Pokémon tattoo, it's something that I legitimately think I'll continue to love throughout my life.

I have the Fire Energy TCG symbol on my heel. It's my first and only tattoo as of now, and nobody ever has anything negative to say about it. People only really notice it in the summer when I'm wearing sandals or shoes without socks, or I'm barefoot, or swimming, or fucking or something like that. Pokemon fan or not, it's still a cool looking tat.

I suggest doing something subtle, that
A) isn't going to flag you as a Pokegeek off the bat
B) non-Pokemon fans can also appreciate
and C) People who DO like Pokemon are going to recognize and think is extra cool

Gym badges were a good idea, TCG symbols all look great, a simply designed Pokemon or part of a Pokemon, like Cubone's skull or something. Really it comes down to whatever part of the Pokemon franchise you really love the most, and what you're willing to look at in the shower/mirror/middle of sex for the rest of your life.

And for Christ's sake, don't get a tattoo at all if you aren't gonna go back every five years or so and get it touched up. Old blurry tats look like shit regardless.

Honestly? Realistic is the way to go if you have other ink.
For instance, I have a tattoo of the Blood Moon from Dead Space 3.
If you ever played any of those games, seeing that on my body then a cartoony looking Pokemon would just.. be weird.

So yes, my ice phoenix was what I got tatted, not the actual Articuno. It's definitely a conversation piece for girls actually into Pokemon.

My artist is my friend's brother who participates in contests and comes in top 3 every time. But he's expensive.

You pay for what you get, ya know? So I'd recommend saving a good amount while searching for the right artist.
