I'd say Snorunt if you can obtain a frosslass by now. If not, I'd go with clamperl if you can evolve that. If not that either, I dunno what to say to you honestly. I know the pain of multiple types cluttering up the box very well.

If you haven't caught something at the Guidance Chamber(Cobalion area in Mistralton Cave) you should go there first because its got pokemon with good matchups against Skyla. (Gigalith in particular)

Time for my first duolocke. Last time I tried to nuzlocke this game, I wiped to Burgh. A duolocke will be harder, but I really like the idea. Hopefully it will keep me entertained long enough to keep at it.

I'm starting a Bug/Dark duolocke. This seems like it is going to be fun. The last time I tried nuzlocking this game, I wiped to Burgh. A duolocke will probably be harder, but hopefully it will help keep me interested in continuing the run.

I'm really liking some of the Kalos pokemon. Phantump has an awesome design, and after coming across the move tutor, I've mixed up movesets a bit. I'm liking this.

Ok recovered from having half my team raped by Drayden, still grinding new members up to scratch but not taking that long with the breeders and lucky egg.

Skuntank gets jack shit for coverage and Bisharp isn't that far behind, but at least he has SD to make up for it, probably gonna replace X-Scissor on him with something else when I need it, and Rapidash and Sawsbuck are hard to decide movesets for.

We've beaten Clair and got the Rising Badge. Rocksteady took out Gyarados with Rock Blast. When clair sent out Kingdra I switched into Sally and used Amnesia To max out Special Def. After that all it took was a couple of Earthquakes.

We got the Dratini from the Dragon's Den and headed to the tower to deal with Ho-oh. I decided it wasn't worth catching him so I took him out with Rocksteady.

All that's left now is training and Victory Road.

Update to my Y Wonderlocke.

A friendly Jap breeder traded me a great Gible with Outrage and Iron Head, which since then has been one of the key players of my team. The combination of Rocky Helmet and Rough Skin saved my ass countless times.

After recking Grant's gym I've managed to get through the Route of Death (also known as Geosenge Town -> Reflection Cave -> Shalour City) with just one, albeit painful loss - Murkrow died in a battle with Karate Girl that packed Unburden Hawlucha with Rock Tomb. Since then I've been struggling to find a good replacement. Wonder Trade wasn't kind enough to give me another Dark type, so for now I'm sticking with the 4 party members I have.

Since I was smart enough to pick Charmander from Sycamore, I've been rocking the game with everyone's favourite Nukezard. Needless to say Ramos Gym was burnt to crisps in a matter of minutes.

Saved the game at the entrance to Kalos Power Plant. Really enjoying this run so far.

Well lost both Sawsbuck to Zinzolin when I forgot his Weavile had a Focus Sash and OHKO'd Saws with Counter, and Rapidash went down to his Triads Scyther when he didn't quite manage to KO and Aerial Ace crit against her. Then Skuntank bit the dust when the Black Belt in Seaside Cave got him with a Crit Explosion.

Pulled Hoppip out of the box and caught a Machoke and Frillish and gonna go see what my Route 22 catch is then grind for Marlon.

Roserade always surprises me whenever I get it, either it dies while still a Budew or makes it to Roserade and becomes death, but it's a very hit and miss mon. Props for using Staraptor and Ursaring though, some good shit right there

I didn't actually use Ursaring though. Was planning to fodder it off if necessary since Torkoal died to a crit Stone Edge against Heracross in Victory Road and I was too lazy to grind up a final mon. The bear was chosen for the suicide mission and I still didn't need to fodder him because of how amazing U.F.O did.

Staraptor was MVP all day erry day. Sky Battles, Hawluchas, he handled them all. Even took a Stone Edge by Flygon and lived (granted it was at -1)

doing a grass/ground (picked random) type run. Not too bad except for ice and flying, which shouldn't be a problem once i get a hold of a rock/ground poke (hopefully)

as of now, i've been doing alright. it's really fucking hard if you don't catch a grass or ground poke within the 3 tries i set for myself.but as soon as i get to glittering cave i should be good.

Viola was fucking horrifying. Infestation did so much damage to lawnmower, and bulldozer was too weak to do anything. I was literally at 2 hp when lawnmowers rollout did that fucking vivillon good.

now it's time for a new starter, and hopefully a skiddo on route 5

Funny, nature is a large part of what killed my Aerodactyl, his minus def nature really didn't help him take that final hit.
I tend to roll with any nature that doesn't directly fuck with what makes something good.
For example, had my Dactly had -spd or -atk, I'd have dropped it.
Neutral is cool, 4/6 of my team are neutral now.

This is a great start, first turn of the battle and he does 90% with a critical Volt Tackle to one of my bulkier members who resist its type. Should of just led with Nidoking instead. OK, something's been bothering me for a while.
If a pokemon is in the 100,000 exp group, shouldn't that mean it's average to train? Like, a starter or something?
Patrat (and every other 100,000 poke for that matter) always takes twice as much exp to train as my starter. What's the deal? Does "average" translate to "Super fucking long" in gamefreak language? This is absurd.

We've arrived at Indigo Plateau. Route 27 and 26 didn't offer much in the way of experience and the pokemon I picked up are meh. Victory road wasn't too annoying and our rival didn't present much of a challenge.

Starting a basic Nuzlocke run in Leaf Green with randomized starters.

My Route 1 & 2 catches both got poisoned in our first Weedle fight in Viridian Forest, and I forgot to bring an antidote, so they both died on the way back to town. In spite of that setback, I'm feeling pretty good about our chances against Brock.

I fucked it up. I forgot Koga's Ariados knew Giga Drain and Sally went down immediately to a crit.
I was hoping to mess Koga up with Earthquake. I had Missy Moo clean up with Zen Headbutt and had Armor Abs Guillotine Koga's Muk after it tried to spam minimize. Rocksteady dealt with Koga's other pokemon.

Bruno was super easy. Gohma took out Hitmontop and Hitmonchan. Pokey Joe dealt with the rest.

Karen is where I fucked up again. Everything was going fine until Gengar Destiny Bonded Pokey Joe. Gohma ruined Vileplume and Umbreon. Rocksteady dealt with Houndoom and Armor Abs finished Murkrow.

All that's left now is Lance. I'm hoping Rocksteady can do some serious damage with Stone Edge. Besides that I don't have much on dragons

And that's that. Rocksteady pulled it off. Lance let me set up a Rock Polish and after that I swept with Stone Edge. The Whole battle I was tense as fuck waiting for Stone Edge to miss. The one Time I didn't think it would OHKO was on Lance's Lv. 50 Dragonite but it got a critical on that one.

I'm not ending the Nuzlocke here. I plan on running Kanto and going for Red. I will take a small break though before I press on.

I need two new team members to make up for my losses. Any suggestions on who I should pull out of the PC?

Everything after that went down to a combo of Hallaval and Gutbuster and they won me the badge, taking out everything bar his Starmie, which I brought Excelsior in on and Sucker Punch'd it to death.

Update to my Y Wonderlocke.

Who the Beedrill suffered a horrible death in Valerie's Gym. Klefki dealt a swift OHKO with Foul Play after I tried to muscle though it's defences with Swords Dance... I really need to look up the level up moves more often.

Having been left with only 3 Pokemon, I added a Fonguss in order to cover up the loss. At first I was doubtful if it would pull it's weight, but my God I was wrong. Easily the MVP of my team at the moment, it just never fucking dies.

Upon hitting Dendemille Town Wonder Trade was finally kind enough to give me a long-awaited Water type. Empoleon's moveset might be quite shitty at the moment, but I hope TMs will be able to fix him soon.

In order to finally have a full team I also added a Beldum I grabbed a good while ago, only to have it quickly defeated in Frost Cave in a rather annoying battle against Marowak. Not being happy with any of the available replacements I stuck with my 5-mon team.

Going for the 7th badge next.

Crits seem to happen more often than in Black for me, higher levels, generally higher AI, it's a ride, that's for sure. Plus, the game tends to give you a lot of repeating types, so once you encounter a certain type you have to be extra careful. Farthest I've ever made it was clay.

Standard Nuzlocke rules. 1 catch per rate, pokemon faints and it's dead, etc.

Wonderlocke rules are that I must wonder trade the first catch I make on a route. Gift/Event pokemon, such as Tyrunt/Amaura and Snorlax, are exempt from the first catch rule and don't count.

I can only level up to match the level of the next gym leader's strongest pokemon. If I surpass the level with a pokemon, I must either use that pokemon as little as possible or bench it for the gym battle.

Picked up a pansage because it's decently offensive, plus it gets leech seed which could benefit my team when they need it. I was hoping bunnelby would have gotten pick up, but it has cheek pouch.

I have an unusual exception to this nuzlocke. Hopefully, this will avoid wiping early. I really like randomized runs, but I never get very far because of strong moves early on. Gonna brainstorm on a previous idea from a thread a year or so ago.

Go to http://wyncorporation.com/pokemon/index.php and set it to Bug and Randomize, excluding legendaries.

Then take that mon or the if it's a evolution, take the lowest mon from the line and pokegen/AR/trade whatever for that mon in a box at level 5.

Then repeat for all the other types, and discard your starter.

Then you try to beat the game with only those mons with the standard nuzlocke rules.

Would anyone play this?
