What is the average amount of boxes one has to fill up before getting a shiny?
Because I'm 16 in, and starting to get tired of this shit.

It varies. I've got shinies as far as 20 boxes in on some occasions. And once I got one only after 2. It's just luck based. Just keep at it OP, your shiny's out there somewhere.

Do you have the shiny charm? without it the average is somewhere around 1/1000, and with it it's close to 1/500 iirc. 16 boxes is hardly enough, at 30 pokes per box you are up to 30 on average without the charm, and 15 if you have it

If my memory serves, it's about 1400 without the charm, so it'd actually be about 45 boxes on average without and 15 with.

Never taken me 45 boxes to get a shiny even without the charm, nonetheless.
