I've actually yet to see a Xern or Mewtwo other than my own. So far the biggest threats have been Talonflame, Kanghaskan, and fucking Zoroark surprisingly.

I'm running a bit of a karen-fag team:

Doing suprisingly well so far, although my biggest threat is usually something like a mega tyranitar

Im currently sitting at 8-2

SOOO many mewtwos and yveltal, which have both been relatively easy to dispatch.
My losses have been as a result of a missed mega mawile play rough, and the surviving mega gyarados went on to sweep.

And also to an eviolite rhydon who managed to land 2 crits in a row on gliscor

Once again Ageislash is mvp. Several matches I have no idea why I pull that type of shit that I did. Like why I didn't switch Ageislash with Azumarill when I saw three of his moves didn't have flare blitz.

Current set is 30-10. I knew this shit was going to be harder than the first day but damn. I really wish I was aiming for that timid nature mewtwo, and I bought Yvetal. But serisously Ageislash took down a Xerneas, took down a talonflame all in the same match. Though I should have stalled out those Sucker punches.

I wouldn't really call that a gimmick, it's very viable in UU since Sharpedo can't survive shit and theres overall less priority moves in UU

Mine is actually the only shiny I've seen in the competition so far. You really see how bad they spread when you see them all the time normally, but once you get into a segregated competition they're rare as balls.

Still, this fella's my pride and joy. I was using my then-new 6 IV Ditto for breeding, and had just swapped out the 3IV Scyther mother for a 4IV daughter. THIRD EGG came out shiny, with pentaperfect IVs. I'm not a fan of shiny Scizor's color, but I was STOKED. It came out Swarm though. Luckily, I described my plight on a forum and a kind soul gave me an Ability Capsule, and all he wanted in return was to see my shiny Scyther next to his normal one in the trade window to compare.

I got pic related in exactly the same way, too - swapped 3IV mother for a 4IV, only I got this guy on the fifth egg. The missing HP IV is 30, so he's essentially perfect, too.
All of my Masuda shinies have been dumb luck like that - whenever I've TRIED to MM, I got nothing.

Yeah Gourgeist is super. Last night it swept two teams. Unless you have a quality STAB dark/ghost move or a Charizard/Talonflame, it'll tank almost any move so I'm sure to get Trick Room off.

And thanks, Gourgeist is my signature Pokemon I guess. Most people who battle me, that I know, get really frustrated by it. I try to build slower teams around it and I think I'm doing okay-ish.

Not everyone is bringing Mewtwo/Xerneas/Yveltal. Many people bring Pokémon to counter them. Aegislash, Mawile and Ferrothorn are pretty common, so a Rotom-H works very well. Rotom-W is extremely useful against Talonflame. Of course a Will-O-Wisp is always nice on a Megakhan.

Regular Swords Dance Aegislash gets rid of Mewtwo/X/Y in 2 turns while not having to fear getting K.O'd by it. Ferrothorn is commonly used against Xerneas. While they Geoherb you can easily take them out with a Gyro Ball.

Depends on how you build/use said legend. For example, while you may see idiots use Mega Mewtwo with the exact same moves they caught it with or worse, who will attempt to Aura Sphere your Aegislash, a good Mewtwo build will net you wins. Will-O-Wisp Mewtwo is insane in this format, as many things are going to try and Sucker Punch you upon sight. Pair it with Recover/Psystrike/coverage of choice, some defensive investment and you have an incredibly useful and extremely annoying Poke which also hits hard - with enough prediction you can cripple AND punch holes in an entire team, then bring out something else and clean up. Another useful build is Scarfed Xerneas - you'll be surprised at the amount of things that come in at full confidence that they're gonna outspeed you only to eat a Moonblast to the face. If their fairy resists are dead, this thing is nigh unstoppable. Want something fun to go with it? Have a Klefki in team preview - they'll usually assume prankswag and lead off with Lum Berry Chomp and the like. Both of these mons would appreciate a teammate who can remove Mawile/Aegislash/Scizor, so bring something that kills these common Steels

A few lucky wins, a few unlucky losses

I sure could have used a pokemon with earthquake or a special attacker that has good defense. Slurpuff got me a few sweeps but it wasn't really that useful. Something to help against Aegislash would have won me at least 3 more games

I found out I say "welp I lost" at least 2-3 times a battle from this.. it's incredible how fast momentum can change

only had trouble if

>aegislash if yveltal was dead or it didnt switch into xerneas, since +2 modest moonblast did just over half damage, and could outspeed and kill

not even scizor stopped me, since yveltal just dark pulsed or oblivion winged it
never let lucario set up, since all my team had aura sphere / focus blast, and unboosted bullet punch didnt ko my xerneas or 2hko either
saw one twave/swagger klefki but i didnt get confused and 2hko'd with xerneas after boost, that was lucky
having energy ball on mewtwo was great; rotom w never knew what hit it
Psystrike / Fire Blast / Energy Ball / Aura Sphere

would've gladly given up sphere for ice beam or willowisp

overall i wish i had more fire types, and will o wisp on mewtwo; too many times i'd see kanga/mawile and wish to fuck it was burned

i did see one kanga with facade, but my xerneas ko'd it

glad it's over though, competitive pokemon's kinda lame. i can see why 6v6 isnt done online on cart

i never used the last three, they were part of my playthrough team; the legends i got from a friend who cloned them, so they were ev trained and shit. the others would've been literally dead weight, the only thing right about them was their natures.

really i'm a bad player

as for the experience and learning part, i did

1. Try to gauge what can blow holes in your team, and patch up those weaknesses with appropriate counters
2. prepare like crazy, train, and have a wide variety
3. have a variety of items and dont think 'well shit ill never use a focus sash'

i mean i cant say i'm good, you read my post despite earlier saying no unless that wasnt you, but then that means two people are raging at me for using legendaries i guess.

i lacked any form of reliable status, or clerical use, or any boosting outside of geo, or priority outside of quick attack on pinsir or sucker punch on yveltal

so chill man. i didnt do great, i used xerneas, but i learned a bit. maybe i'll play more, once i get good
