You mean passing down EVs? No that's dumb. Pokemon's IVs are hereditary while EVs are trained.

Shit i thought you were talking about the pokemons characteristics

If two pokmon are mischievous and the other vain or takes naps, then the offspring shpuld have those characteristics like in real life how offspring inherit the personalities

Those quips are based on what the last digit of the Pokémon's highest IV is.
Since a Pokémon randomly inherits its parents IVs, it has a chance to have the same characteristic, too, depending on which IVs are inherited.
