But gun control is probably strict as shit, like it is in Japan right now. So if you're going into a forest, would you rather have your trusty lvl 36 Mightyena, or risk getting arrested, heavily fined, and likely jailed for a decade or two by getting your hands on a gun? A gun that cost twenty times as much as it should that you had to search on the black market for a month to gind?
Seeing as the majority of people have Pokemon, some idiot thinking he rob a store with m-muh firearms is going to get one shot off before someone's graveler knocks him the fuck out. Hell it doesn't even have to be a graveler, someone's raticate could just jump at you and if you miss well there goes your major artery.
This is also why TR uses Pokemon for crimes, because you can get stopped with a ball on you and walk away but your records fucked for like if Officer Jenny's growlithe smells your gunpowder.
tldr, yes there's guns but they're probably banned to shit and aren't very useful
