Snorlax thrived because it had phenomenal Special bulk, and only one weakness with few abusers and even fewer moves to take advantage of it.
Gen 4's Close Combat was the beginning of the end for it. With Slack Off, it'd be able to more reliably setup Curse, live longer to take advantage of its bulk on non-boosting sets, but it will still fall to repeated SE STAB hits which outspeed it.
