Yeah, I'm really sad about this. It was a small but friendly community, and the guides were always pretty hilarious. And it was really nice having a site about the anime that wasn't obsessed with leaks and spoilers, but instead only focused on each episode as it aired without knowing about future episodes. One of the only reasons that I followed the dub was to read the guides about each new episode.

But it's amazing the site lasted this long. The guy who runs it and writes the guides has been at this for years, and I think is well over 30 by this point. Can't blame him for wanting to move on with his life.

Mid-30s, I think. Pretty sure he was in his late teens when he started (can't have been much younger than that), and that's over 15 years ago.

Lots of old faces have popped up in that thread linked in the first post. Even if you didn't use the forums, I'm sure he'd appreciate you registering just to say you liked what he did.
The forum is closing down in just a few days now.

I was planning on doing that right after he announced the closure, but then so many other people showed up to thank him that it didn't seem like one additional voice from someone who never actually posted would matter.

I dunno, though, maybe I still will.

I liked how he gave the dub more credit than it was worth, and often "filled in the blanks" with his analyses when the dub dialogue was shitty. I dunno how to explain what I mean by that, but it was definitely great to read to get a deeper understanding of the eps.

Exactly. He took the dub for what it was, without comparing it to the Japanese or getting all whiny about character voices or dub music or everything that goes on at other sites.

I'd say that I wish someone else would take over the site and keep it going, but I don't think that anybody else could do it nearly as well.
