I use HP Ice instead of Volt Switch. But yes, that's mostly its ideal set. The only reason you'd ever want to use it competitively is because of Sticky Web, while Thunder is good STAB because of its ability and Bug Buzz is secondary STAB

If you're going doubles you can use gastro acid on Slaking and go to town. Galvantula can hold its own wit Sticky web / Giga Drain, Gastro Acid, Bug Buzz, Thunder.

At one point I was up against a MegaMawile and got the Gastro off, BEFORE setting up Web. It couldn't even do enough damage to break my Sash. So I got the web off too and died, and it was forced to switch out to recover its ability. That really helped, because it would have wrecked my team had I not been able to set up thanks to that.

With bug buzz's buff this gen to work through subs, sticky web being a useful entry hazard, and thunder synergizing with compound eyes as well as providing great coverage with bug buzz, I really don't see Galvantula needing anything else. HP Ice, HP Ground, Volt Switch, Gastro Acid, Giga Drain, and even Sucker Punch are all usable options.

But the only reason people are going to use Galvantula in upper tiers is for Sticky Web, everything else is just a good option after Sticky Web is up. At least it's better than those Sticky Web Sash smeargles running around.

91%thunder is nice, but unboosted 97 spa.atk isn' really anything. Too many ground/dragon types in OU that don't give a fuck, and proceed to 2hko (because of FS).
