You have several options;

1. use a viable taunter that is quicker than azumarill (for example Greninja, Gyarados, Mandibuzz or Sableye

2. Have a Pokémon that is immune to aqua jet and is quicker. This can deal damage

I'd suggest you use sableye with WoW or Trick (with scarf) or with taunt

Fucking Azumarill.

Mega Venu seems to be the only 100% reliable counter to Azu, though revenge killing it with Bravest Bird can also save your ass in a pinch.

Tangrowth actually counters choice band sets nicely, but dies to +6 Play Rough... It's like Azumarill was tailor-made to destroy all my favorite pokemon.

Don't let it set up, don't give it free turns. Also have something that is fater and resists Water so you can revenge kill. BD Azumarill tends to invest in speed to make revenge killing harder so 0 Speed Rotom-W might get rekt.

So I can counter an azumarill, but then got swept by a gengar.
I would share the replay but the showdown program is fucking up for me.
The gengar just kept using confuse ray and shadow pulse and I couldn't do anything about it. It also paralyzed me.

My 2 cents: Rocky Helmet Ferro is pretty good to whittle down the last bit of Azu's health, but watch out for Superpower.

since I use it all the time, I'll give you some hints.

Mega Venusaur shits all over any set and threatens it from using BD at all. Amoonguss walls non-BD sets if you want to go that way
LO Gengar/Thundurus-T always OHKO's Azu no matter what (except the rare Assault Vest). Getting it to take prior damage with hazards is great since it's pretty balk. BD sets are fucked over by specs Latios, Sludge Wave Landorus, Thundurus-I, and regular Gengar because they won't have enough HP left to belly drum after the berry.

if this was gen V, Jellicent completely walls it, but not anymore. Fairy typing made it really fucking good

This has always worked for me, barring stealth rocks. If you switch in on an aqua jet those shouldn't be a problem though. It outspeeds so you can go straight for a seed bomb.

also 252 def Impish Ferrothorn fucks it up too since Superpower cannot OHKO it even with a choice band... IF you happen to hit the Power Whip afterward.
it's not as reliable so I don't recommend it as much as what I posted above. M-Mawile can force it out but it's not much of a check without intimidate.

Have hazards and paralyze it with Thundurus.

Toxic/Burn it with something faster.

As long as you don't let it BD for free she's manageable, you just have to sac something occasionally.

Also Ferrothorn because BD can't afford to run Superpower.

Probably just me, but Dry Skin Heliolisk is my counter for Azumarill. After Belly Drum, a Thunderbolt takes care of it and it can't use Aqua Jet without healing me instead.

Belly drum is still gimmicky as fuck, even with priority. If you switch in a check when your opponent sets up, they either lose their sweeper right then or they switch out. However, unlike other methods of setting up, belly drum can usually only be done once, if at all.

Niggas need to learn how clutch Gourgeist is in OU.

Can switch in on the Belly Drum and then beast on a WATERFALL, not even AJ, then KO back.

Beasts on any offensive moves non-Banded Talonflame runs then KO back with Rock Slide after recoil damage.

Lum Berry/Frisk variants can shut down Rotom-W hard.

Threatens Mega Heracross with burn.

Better spinblocker than Aegislash, considering the best spinner in OU is Excadrill.

OHKOs Gengar and is immune to Hypnomiss of Insomnia. 2HKOs Mega Medicham, can switch in an burn Sucker Punch Mega Mawile.
