That's not how it works. Leavanny has no visible wings and nothing else references it having wings.

I won't be surprised if the retards here try and justify Cryogonal learning Attract because it's a "special snowflake" or something. Game Freak just sometimes puts nonsensical shit on Pokemon. It's as simple as that. ;)

The Pokedex entry is the only legit tie in my opinion. The anime can't really be called game canon (baby Lugia), and the Pokemon designers in Japan didn't have anything to do with the French name.

All of Elgyem's names refer to aliens (LGM, Ligrey = the Greys or little green men, etc), which are heavily associated with the Roswell incident though not exclusively tied to it. At least I know a mantis can have wings. Meanwhile Leavanny has never been shown with wings in the anime or the games. Also please feel free to explain why bug Pokemon such as Kricketune or Heracross who ACTUALLY have visible wings can't learn Steel Wing. :)
