Yes and no. You see, that's why some people call them Troll Freak. And in my perspective, they probably just wanted to know if Challenge Mode turned out to be actually harder to fans.

It was a terribly implemented feature, but I'll do my best to give them the benefit of the doubt. It may have been a decent idea in a country like Japan, with a denser population and what I'd baselessly presume is a higher proportion of handheld ownership. In the rest of the world, it worked terribly. Their problem (in my hypothetical world where Game Freak is not simply made up of idiots) wasn't how it worked, but that they didn't think through the problems that it would raise in larger, more spread-out populations.

I'm really hoping Challenge Mode comes back but they'll let you choose it freely like how difficulty modes in almost every other game work.

Challenge mode actually worked on my game. the people in Black Tower went up 10 levels, and the AI got smarter. I liked it, and still do.

Why even bother? Challenge Mode should have been enabled from the start. Otherwise, it's fucking stupid.

No, you don't get to replay the game, if you restart you lose the key. You have to give the key to someone else before you reset and then they give it back to you.

If they can beat it on normal, they don't need it.
They should just have it be a thing the professor asks you at the start (ask Is this your first pokemon adventure?
yes means easy, if you say no ask
Would you like a harder challenge, then?
if you say yes, go hard mode, no go normal)
