Inspired mostly by genies, because it is (along with Gothorita), the manipulate Pokemon. Also 'when pigs fly' etc.

Ability: Manipulate
Auto Trick Room.

Mega Seismitoad
Goes quadrupedal, becomes more hulking, grows a metric fuckton more pustules, which all become larger and more aggravated
Seismitoad has an attrocious stat distribution, so I'm lowering its speed a lot to make use of its balanced bulk and offense (which makes sense because Mega Seismitoad wouldn't be able to move much)
105/95/75/85/75/74 ->105/137/95/137/95/40
Basically the same treatment Abomasnow got.
Ability: Mineralate (I know these are a trend, but Seismitoad is very much based on sound and it'd be neat to get STAB on Hyper Voice) - turns normal type moves into ground type moves and boosts their power.

Ash had a Palpitoad. It's not unreasonable to wish they'd bring it back for him to evolve and then mega evolve, especially considering how little screentime it got in Best Wishes. Also no Gen V Pokemon got megas, and Seismitoad's stat distribution is awful. I think it is a good candidate.
As for Grumpig, yeah. But >>19006636 seems to care about it.
No one cared about Banette, Medicham or Abomasnow either. And two of them got good megas!

Metagross get's X/Y variations.

X gets bigger, bulkier, +Sp.A & defenses. The supercomputer concept becomes more apparant in the design, maybe with some cool feature like a brain in a jar or somesuch. Ability becomes trace.

Y rises into the air, it's legs now jets, gaining offensive stats. It's concept is now that of a flying saucer, with the back legs joined to form a Y shape(as opposed to the X shape of standard metagross) It's new ability is levitate

I believe that both of these evolutions present interesting options for metagross. Gaining trace mid-battle can really help out and provide for some interesting and imaginative gameplay along with trace being a sort of perfect ability for metagross in the first place.

Levitate, on the other hand, eliminates one of metagross' biggest weaknesses and frees it up for a more aggressive style of gameplay

Thoughts?

I was kinda disappointed that nidoking/queen didn't get megas, but I guess my disappointment was balanced by my relief that the eeveelutions didn't.

Sure there are plenty of pokemon I like better than the rabbit royals, I'd fucking love a tentacruel or noctowl that gives it a way to make its psychic movepool work a bit better, and I've always loved skarmory, but lets be honest, he really doesn't need it. The nidos feel more suited to it, personally. Not sure what the abilities/typing would change to, though.

Oh yeah, Arena Trap is mainly because its entries go on about how it follows and traps prey by making them unable to move or escape, so a mega version would have more power to do so.

Since Volcarona is inspired by sun deities in general and Ameratsu in particular, I figure giving it a sun-based ability makes sense.

I've always thought Volcarona "looks" like it'd make a good wall, but its base HP and 4x weakness to rock made it unsuitable for such a role. Here I tried to make it into a more defensive Pokemon, albeit one that requires some support to maximize its effectiveness. It probably sucks.
