All those Pokemon on DPP, HGSS, BW and BW2 GTS whose owners have stopped playing or are too lazy to remove from GTS. Eradicated to nothing in 3 weeks in the second Pokemon Holocaust after the GBC to GBA generation split where everybody's GSC and RBY Pokemon were left to die slowly as the internal battery ran out of juice. The ones with plausible trades are still safe, but the ones with Lv1 Crobat have their fates sealed.

I have a friend currently playing Platinum and Soul Silver, who's ultimately hoping to transfer his pokes when he finally gets a 3ds with xy.

The move from DPPt/HGSS to BW1/2 doesn't require wifi, so they're safe in that regard.
