>>19038631The problem with battlespot is that the metagame is so flawed and unbalanced, and to top that off, no rules/restrictions/clauses besides lol no event mons or box legends. This leads to a clusterfuck of hax abuse, Mega Kang/Gengar, sleepers and so on, leaving no real room for actual strategies and variation. In higher rankings, you will come across actually skilled and awesome players, which not only stick around if you outpredict, but outpredict you back, turning matches around in the blink of an eye - and these people are extremely fun to fight with even when you lose 0 to 3. Unfortunately though, a very large percentage of 1900+ players only have that rank because of the sheer amount of games played, while their win to loss ratio isn't really impressive (e.g 1000w/850l). I mean, you can easily be a mediocre player and have such a rank if you simply sit and play 100+ matches every day. And a mediocre player with a 1900+ rank will behave the exact same way as a mediocre player with a low/mid range rank. Aside from that, it's really just Mega Gengar/Kangaskhan: the meta, and hax: the meta. Japs may be cheap, but let's be honest, if showdown allowed all this bullshit, too, the entire world would fit just as perfectly into the category of cheap players
