Question, is it possible to use the GBA slot on No$gba while running a DS game?
I'm playing Platinum for the first time on my computer and I'd like to catch a Growlithe on Route 202 via Fire Red.

It's like using the original VBA, deprecated since 2004, when there's VBA-M. Just fucking use DeSmuME (latest version: 0.9.10). And yes, you can emulate Slot 2 with it.

For the record, I have both, No$gba just pops up first in my current emulator folder.

Config > Slot 2 (GBA slot)

Select "GBA cartridge" in the drop-down menu and then point to the GBA ROM. I think the save file has to be in the same location as the ROM and its name must match too, which DeSmuME already warns you to.

Well, unlock Pal Park and then try migrating Pokémon. Another tip: by default, DeSmuME sets the Tab key to the speed-up function, like VBA/VBA-M using the spacebar key for the same thing.

There was a guide like a year ago that explained how to run DeSmUmE Pokemon games at 200% speed on normal computers.

My shitty toaster laptop can run it mostly most of the time at 100% speed (120% inside buildings, 150% during battles).

Let me find it.

Generation V overworld is 30 fps, battles are 60 fps, intro is 15 fps.

Generation IV is 30 fps everywhere.

Couldn't find the guide but here's what to do:

1) Download the newest version of DeSmuME (A lot of people use the old versions)

2) Go to Config>Emulation Settings>General>Enable Advanced Bus-Level Timing
If it's checked uncheck it.

3)Go to Config>Emulation Settings>CPU emulation mode>Use dynamic recomplier
Check it and set it to 100

This should make fast forward REALLY fast, and no lag or slowdowns if you don't fast forward.

If you run on a toaster also do this:
Config>Frame Skip
Set it to 4 or 5, you won't tell the difference, just don't keep it at 0.
