So what's the deal with Mega Evolutions not preserving gender differences? If there was just one that had one and lost it, then no big deal; but there are 10: Venusaur, Alakazam, Gyarados, Scizor, Heracross, Houndoom, Blaziken, Garchomp, Medicham, and Abomasnow. Hell, they even made Mega Latios and Latias look exactly the same! All this on top of the steadily declining number of pokemon that have the in the first place; 3 in Gen 5,TWO in Gen 6?

So what's the deal; does John Gamefreak want all pokemon to look the same?

Apparently they thought the 140 that they introduced in Gen 4 as compensation for not having them before was balanced enough. Fuck that.

I think that basically every Pokemon that got a Mega had a minimal enough gender difference where putting them in wasn't very important.

But fucking Latias and Latios? They're two separate Pokemon, they should at least look SLIGHTLY different

Laziness. Expect more as the 3D era of Pokemon continues.

Granted they probably shoehorned most of these in last minute for pandering, so we might see more detail in later games..

It's important to me, though. Not every time you see a pokemon is in a battle, or somewhere else you can see the symbol. I'd like to know just by looking the gender of a pokemon.
