Delphox is legitimately one of the best pokes in the tier.
It's quite fast for the tier and has very nice coverage from its dual STABs, as everything that resists them is either in a higher tier or just trash/frail anyway. Only exceptions are pretty much Slowking and Delphox itself.
114 SpA is also nice.
It can run a Calm Mind set which needs very little support to dismantle stall teams, a scarf set to act as a revenge killer (Switcheroo is also super dickish) or Specs because muh power.
It's one of those pokemon you really need to think about how you're going to handle it when you're making a team for RU.

Embroar was good in RU last gen. It's a fire type that's neutral to stealth rock, which lets it more easily switch in and out and counter stuff it's supposed to. And Sucker Punch is great. Bulky and hits hard.

It's not on Delphox's level of "if you don't plan for it you will lose to it" but it's very solid.

Really I'd go Delphox > Embroar >> Typhlosion. Just in context of RU. Embroar is good but not overwhelmingly strong. Delphox can sweep whole teams pretty easily.

But that's objectively false, Greninja's STAB on everything + Life Orb actually lets it hit harder than M-Blastoise can when using moves that would be boosted by Mega Launcher:

Since Greninja gets two signature moves, I think it's only fair if we gave Delphox another signature move, maybe one that can make Magician worthwhile.

How about this, a status move (Let's call it Alchemy for now) that destroys the user's held item in return for some sort of an effect, or maybe even an attack, depending what the held item was?

Typhlosion has Focus blast and HP Grass. That's it.
Eruption sucks even with a Scarf because priority and hazards, so there goes his only gimmick.
Now, if he got a Fire-type Gale Wings I could see him being low OU, definitely high OU though.
Typhlosion is the Flareon of starters. No moves, no gimmicks, nothing. Null, zero, nada.
He doesn't even get basic volcano stuff like Scald and Earth Power yet, I don't see him being used in any team for at least until Move Tutors.[/spoiler]

Adaptability changes STAB to a 2x bonus. It does not calculate STAB twice. Same-type moves get an additional 4/3 multiplier on top of the standard 3/2 one.

Incidentally, Tough Claws is also a 4/3 boost, as is Sheer Force. Adaptability is actually kinda shitty, especially on monotypes.

Anything without Sap Sipper is guaranteed to let Serperior get to +2
The problem is Leaf Storm is Special while Serperior's coverage is Physical. So you have to rely on HP Ice/Rock/Fire for coverage.
So it's basically a different Lilligant.

Keep in mind that Grass-resists aren't exactly uncommon, and that Serperior's base 75 Special Attack isn't doing much without a boost or two. Glare is probably a good option for crippling common switch-ins before your sweep is ready.

Still a raw deal. Would have been nice to see steel still resist Dark. If nothing else, it would give a little more separation between ghost and dark offensive.

It does. It has an amazing physical movepool but lacks the stats to use it effectively. Best you can do is an awkward mixed set with Fire Blast, Wild Charge/Stone Edge, Earthquake, and Eruption/Extrasensory

Mega Banette's usage is the usage of Banette@Banettite. Also note that in Gen V, Banette was actually the shittiest of all of the Pokemon that got Megas.

What niche does swampert have this gen? It's most popular set is the banded set which god knows how outclassed it is, AV/SR? Empoleon isn't the best mon but it's stronger in it's Niche than swampert is, and is a better mon.

Good point, I didn't realize my mistake until I typed it out.
Also, I would argue that Swampert has a better typing than Empoleon, as Swampert only has one weakness, and that weakness is one that is not very commonly used as an attacking stat.
