People complain all the time about the shit deals that others offer, but that's only because the fairish deals go through almost instantaneously

In my experience the GTS is pretty decent if you make a fair offer yourself and let others respond. I wouldn't trust it in terms of IVs all the time but generally people respond pretty quickly to reasonable trades. It's why you mostly just see ridiculous deals, like legendaries for random friend-safari shit, all the good offers get snapped up pretty quickly.
