Generally speaking I am of the belief that Digimon is not a rip-off of Pokémon, however I feel required to ask:

What the Hell is this?

It's like they drew Lati@s, modified it just enough to avoid copyright infringement and called it a day. Even the art looks purposefully drawn from odd angles to mask the obvious copy.
