Wow, really? It looks nice in concept art, but fuck me Hax's busy, line-heavy design really suffered with B/W's awfully pixellated animations. 3D models almost universally benefitted the more complex designs IMO, you're able to intepret the complexity much better when you have different angles to work with.

Has anyone here played Pokemon Colosseum? (Or XD probably, but I didn't play that one.) I remember it having the proportions down really well, in that Wailord's full body could only be seen when the camera zoomed way out, and tiny Pokemon like Plusle were appropriately small. It was disappointing to see that they threw most size-stuff out the window in XY.

Ferroseed. It does not move, it's completely still. I mean, with all of the thorns keeping it down in one place, I guess it makes sense. But still, it's a bit strange to look at, considering pretty much every other Pokemon has an idle animation.

I wouldn't have an issue with the XY animation if I didn't love the BW one. Why make it spin in one game but not in another game where animating something spinning is literally the easiest animation possible?

The sizes of Pokemon are bullshit, and the 3D makes it worse. It was fine in 2D like in this image, but turns out that Excadrill is shorter than fucking Hitmontop.

Bisharp looked better in Gen 5 with its arm up.
Krokorok looked better in Gen 5 with its arms crossed.
A lot of gen 5 animations were great, like Emboar trampling or Oshawott playing with its shell.

Really though, the ones who were hit the worst are all the flying types that were forced into awkward floating positions due to sky battles. Xatu is fucking disgusting, I was really looking forward to it standing on the ground and waving its wings around but nooooo.
