I tried it in triples with Bellossom and Gallade. It was semi-usable but still disappointing. It's a shame it isn't better. I really like Houndour/Houndoom.

First turn set up sun, Wisp Houndoom with Gallade (I Mega'd Houndoom on the second turn but I probably did that stupidly) and boost Houndoom with Nasty Plot. Second turn I Mega'd Houndoom and spammed Solarbeam/Flamethrower/SE attack healing as needed. Gallade's Heal Pulse is to heal the sun damage on Houndoom and Synthesis is to try to keep the sun setter alive longer. If anybody has a better strategy for this, please share. Mine is more than likely shit. I'm pretty new to competitive and strategizing.
